The Employer Register on sulinal.nanoq.gl is the central place for reporting wages, taxes, pensions, etc., in the country. Here you can register, get guidance, and receive assistance. As all information is continuously updated on the Employer Register’s site, this is just an introductory overview.
When your company has one or more employees, you must register the company in the Employer Register and report wages, taxes, and pensions. If you no longer have employees, you can deregister from the register. You gain the status of an employer as soon as someone works for your company, whether for short-term or long-term tasks.
All employers must use the Employer Register. The Employer Register contains all the functions you, as an employer, need for wages, taxes, AMA (Labor Market Supplementary fund), pensions, fringe benefits, etc.
As an employer, you are required to:
- Receive the employee’s tax card and record the information from the tax card in the Employer Register.
- Calculate the tax deduction for each payment of A-income (income taxed at source) to employees.
- Calculate the tax deduction on earned holiday pay according to special rules.
- Provide the employee with a statement of A-income and A-tax for each payment.
- Every month, you must submit a report of the A-income, A-tax, and AMA contribution for the previous month via the Employer Register.
- Every month, you must pay the withheld A-tax and AMA contribution for the previous month to the Tax Agency.
- At the end of each calendar year, you must issue annual tax report (the so-called A11 forms) showing how much A-income and withheld A-tax each employee has had.
- You must also report the amounts paid to the employee’s pension or life insurance plans, foreign pension contributions, and any fully or partially provided benefits, such as food and lodging, housing, stays, travel, car, phone, internet, etc. Both the Employer Register and the employees must receive this information.
