Tax Treatment of Bitcoin

Asset Transactions made with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, instead of traditional currencies, will be treated as if they were made in a currency recognized by the national bank. For example, if wages are paid in Bitcoin, it does not exempt them from taxation.

The employer is generally required to report the wages in Danish Kroner (DKK), and the same applies to the individual's tax return. The value of Bitcoin at the time of payment must be converted into Danish Kroner for proper tax reporting, ensuring that the payment is taxed just like any other wage income.
